This Sunday evening the CBS network will premiere their special investigation show “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This special was shot after a 16-week investigation into the online Texas Hold’em industry and in particular a scandal concerning the online poker site Absolute Poker.

This poker page was probed after a few of the Texas Hold’em players on the webpage stated that someone was illegally winning a great amount of cash. Todd Witteles was a key witness in this research, according to him; he was losing large amounts of cash to the very same poker player. Witteles claimed that this poker player was raising against awfully good cards, anyone would have guessed he was simply handing over his money, but he was in reality earning tons of chips.

Witteles was correct with his theories, following this it was discovered that someone with knowledge of the site was able to watch any player’s hole cards. At first look, Absolute Poker said that there were no problems with the page or the Texas Hold’em poker competitor. After several players showed up with allegations, the Texas Hold’em poker webpage explored further into the issue and found the problem.

Around January of this year, the gaming commission revealed what the poker competitors and the Texas Hold’em poker site had suspected all the time. It turned out that, there was a member of the staff who had broken through the poker room’s security and was playing poker unlawfully for around a month and a half. The research established that the Texas Hold’em page had not benefited from the unlawful activities in any way, and was definitely not involved.

These issues are further proof that there should be more laws regarding online Texas hold’em websites. The United States government should license and control the internet poker business to defend these decent customers. These control measures would also control the access to these pages by young children, which is turning into another problem these days.
