Is Boasting in Poker Games a Good Bluffing Technique?

Posted under Poker & poker strategy & texas hold em tips

poker bragging
One of the most despicable individuals at the Texas Hold’em table time and time again will constantly be the attention-seeker. You are familiar with the player I’m speaking of. He’s the poker player that finds a seat at the poker table and makes evident you’re conscious that he wants all of your Texas Hold’em chips; parting the no limit Texas Hold’em poker table with the very same posture that he came with. Even if the guy gets killed, he has the thought that he is the best no limit Texas Hold’em poker player on the globe.

Though the majority of Texas Hold’em Poker players would preferably avoid poker opponents of this type, there are other poker players who may say that bragging may have its positive side. So, the big doubt is: Is there really a clever no limit Texas Hold’em poker boaster or a bad Texas Hold’em bragger? Bragging about how skilled you are in no-limit Texas Hold’em is mostly just like stating: “I am the most skilled no-limit Texas Hold’em player on the globe, make sure to play the best you can while you’re playing a Texas Hold’em Poker tournament against me!” That’s about the nastiest vibe to send out playing poker. Plus, giving away too much information about your no limit Texas Hold’em poker playing manner can be quite harmful to your Texas Hold’em Poker game. You positively do not want these people to find out how you bet on certain Texas Hold’em Poker hands.

Furthermore there are those Texas Hold’em competitors who may use bragging as a sort of no-limit Texas Hold’em strategy, or bluff. Show-boating when you get a specific no limit Texas Hold’em poker hand could bewilder your opponents and baffle them about your Texas Hold’em playing technique. You will come across people who may deem this approach somewhat tricky, but it is vital to keep in mind that there aren’t tons of rules against it in no-limit Texas Hold’em. No limit Texas Hold’em poker is all about working with what you got and utilizing it to the end.

Online Poker Scandal will be featured on CBS’ 60 Minutes

Posted under Poker & poker laws & texas hold'em

c.b.s.
This Sunday evening the CBS network will premiere their special investigation show “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This special was shot after a 16-week investigation into the online Texas Hold’em industry and in particular a scandal concerning the online poker site Absolute Poker.

This poker page was probed after a few of the Texas Hold’em players on the webpage stated that someone was illegally winning a great amount of cash. Todd Witteles was a key witness in this research, according to him; he was losing large amounts of cash to the very same poker player. Witteles claimed that this poker player was raising against awfully good cards, anyone would have guessed he was simply handing over his money, but he was in reality earning tons of chips.

Witteles was correct with his theories, following this it was discovered that someone with knowledge of the site was able to watch any player’s hole cards. At first look, Absolute Poker said that there were no problems with the page or the Texas Hold’em poker competitor. After several players showed up with allegations, the Texas Hold’em poker webpage explored further into the issue and found the problem.

Around January of this year, the gaming commission revealed what the poker competitors and the Texas Hold’em poker site had suspected all the time. It turned out that, there was a member of the staff who had broken through the poker room’s security and was playing poker unlawfully for around a month and a half. The research established that the Texas Hold’em page had not benefited from the unlawful activities in any way, and was definitely not involved.

These issues are further proof that there should be more laws regarding online Texas hold’em websites. The United States government should license and control the internet poker business to defend these decent customers. These control measures would also control the access to these pages by young children, which is turning into another problem these days.

Is it Possible to Make Money Playing Texas Hold’em Tournaments?

Posted under Poker & poker tips & texas hold em tournament

chris ferguson
Imagine if you were to talk to any normal guy or girl off the street about online Texas Hold’em poker, they in all probability wouldn’t deem Texas Hold’em poker to be a game of strategy, planning, or observation. Probably when you point out online Texas Hold’em poker with them, they would perhaps imagine some friends lounging around their living room table chatting and smoking cigars. They also might consider online poker to be a game of pure luck as opposed to talent, more similar to a game of craps rather than a skill game, for example.

So the big question mark there is: “Can I become rich by playing Texas Hold’em?”. You might not believe it but, people actually do earn a living by playing poker. Several individuals not just win money by playing Texas Hold’em poker, but also become millionaires by playing poker. The key point you shouldn’t forget about Texas Hold’em is that while you can play in a Las Vegas casino, close to roulette tables and casino slots; in Texas Hold’em poker you are not working against the house but against other Texas Hold’em players. Therefore, in all reality, you are betting your hard cash against other competitors in a match of ability as opposed to a game of fate.

You may be saying to yourself: “Doesn’t chance play a part?” Obviously in online Texas Hold’em poker, no one has any idea which hands will be dealt. That doesn’t mean that you cannot play Texas Hold’em poker with a certain amount of pre-tournament data. One key point to keep in mind in poker is that numbers can be your best friend. Mathematics plays a rather significant role in the game of online Texas Hold’em. So much so, that even if you become somewhat fortunate frequently the statistics always have a way of bringing you back to reality.

Remember that LV casino games comparable to online Texas Hold’em poker where you are truly contending vs. other real-life poker players CAN be won. One will find that the more you play the game of online Texas Hold’em, you will realize that it is more of game of ability as opposed to just pure chance.

poker
The advantages of online poker compared to actual poker rooms are endless, but besides these advantages there are also a number of inconveniences. Internet poker lets recreational poker players the opportunity to compete in prize poker tournaments with pro Texas Hold em players, but these regular amateur players need to avoid any disturbances that might harm their opportunities to win big money.

Many online Texas Holdem players become sidetracked by their surroundings, or probably by the online Texas Holdem poker website they are competing on. These distractions can in truth cost them great poker hands and even their hard-earned Texas Hold em chips. The game of poker is a game of expertise and also entire attention, no matter if you are playing online poker, or in a real poker room.

Possibly, the principal blunder that internet poker players commit is by competing in more than one poker table at once. The greater part of amateur internet poker players will assume that this is a good plan, but at the end of the day it may prove to be a shortcoming. This system of playing a number of online poker tables at the same time will hurt your awareness and finally cost you big. Keep in mind that even the best Texas Holdem players in the world can commit costly blunders when focusing their attention on different internet poker tables at the same time.

Any particular online Texas Holdem player, may at any moment, find themselves playing various internet poker tables at once, at the same time as they are watching their favorite TV show, reading their preferred website, calling their friends etc. This is a state which must be avoided if you long to win satellite games and succeed for big online Texas Holdem poker tournaments. Always remember to concentrate your attention on the other online Texas Holdem player’s bets, their aim, and your own internet poker hands if you really wish to beat your poker competitors.

Several Pointers for fooling your Texas Hold Em opponents

Posted under poker strategy & poker tips & texas hold em tips

poker
One of the most important aspects in Texas Hold Em is deceiving your opponents by persuading them into thinking you have a good poker hand, when the truth is it is most likely you have a terrible hand. This is what people call “Poker face”, an expressionless face for fooling your competitors into trusting in an idea that may not be true.

Holding a good poker hand is most likely going make you feel more anxious, could possibly make your hands shake, and your heartbeat race. These are tell-tale signs that your poker buddies may pick up on very quickly, especially if you have been playing with them for some time. Keep in mind not to glimpse at the pot if you are holding a strong hand. This is a tell-tale sign to the other players that you are, in your head, counting how much you will possibly win.

In the condition where you have a dreadful poker hand, try not to keep yourself from glancing at your poker buddies, keep your eyes up, and don’t be indecisive about your poker bet. When you can persuade yourself that your poker hand is just as good, or superior than your poker buddies; you will have a better chance of making them think this as well. Keep in mind to keep this as natural-looking as possible. Your gestures and actions may be saying one idea, while what you are saying are making them believe something else.

Another important aspect of this game is to be aware of your poker buddies’ “poker tells”. A “tell” is a gesture or habit that could might give away information about their hand. One important aspect to keep in mind is when your competition is acting as though he has a strong hand; he, in all likelihood, is holding a weak hand. On the contrary, if he behaves as though he has a weak hand, he most likely has a very good hand.

Each player including yourself will have a hard time winning, if the entire poker table is playing a tight poker game. What could take place if you have a poker table full of tight players is the poker players will wind up trading the smaller pots back and forth to each other. Meanwhile the hotel casino is raking in tons of your hard-earned cash, and that of your competition. So now you might say, is it better to play loose? Well, in this situation the better Texas holdem’ players are going to lose fewer hands, but at the end of it all nobody is going to triumph.

How can I improve my poker playing in the long run?

The answer to this question is as effortless as a piece of paper and a pen. A terrific plan to find out a lot about your playing technique and strategy, is to keep some sort of record of your Texas holdem’ playing. You could write down this information during the Texas holdem’ game, and then transfer it to a database on your home computer. This can also help you learn about your competitor’s playing style, and what is the best tactic to overpower them.

Is it a good idea to use the same tactics for every poker tournament?

If you think that being predictable is a winning strategy for playing Texas holdem’, then you should consider changing your Texas holdem’ strategy. The experts have the same opinion that changing your poker playing style is the greatest way to confuse and puzzle your Texas holdem’ competition. You should test a handful of methods, find the ones that work for you and modify them for every Texas holdem’ tournament.

The fine art of the bluff

Posted under Poker

According to the 2006 WSOP bracelet winner, Jamie Gold, he wants to be remembered as the finest bluffer in the world. But if his last poker tournament is any indication, his wish may not be granted at all.

The setting is the 2007 Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic held at the Vegas Bellagio Hotel in 2007. Featuring $50 - $100 blinds and a $15,000 buy-in, Darrell Dicken is close to the end of his run. The seat 4 player has just raised his wager to $300, a minor increase with only one player taking the bait. “I put him as being weak,” Jamie said, “I was thinking about raising, but instead I just called with a 10-3 of hearts to see what would happen.”

Jamie was thinking that Brad Booth would make some kind of move, which he did. He re-raised to $1600 from the big blind. Gold had the idea that Booth had a decent hand, but he was in a superb position to make a move considering the amount of dead money in the pot. Dicken finally folded, and the unknown in Seat 4 called Booth’s raise.

At this point there was more than $4000 in the pot, so Jamie wagered another $4000. He was thinking, only if someone else had aces or kings there would be no chance they would make that call. Jamie’s plan was to make a sizeable move on the flop, as long as no ace came up. The second part of his strategy was to get Booth to fold, which he did. Booth folded with pocket queens.

Out of the flop there was an ace of ace-6-5, two clubs. The player in seat 4 checked and Jamie bet $2000. Jamie’s first thought was to make him think that he had clubs. Seat 4 laid down a $10,000 chip, but didn’t say anything thus turning his raise into a call. Jamie’s thought was that seat 4 most likely had an ace, but you have to protect it in case he hits his set on the following card.

A 2 of hearts showed up on the turn, and Jamie folded to what he was thinking was a top pair kicker. Seat 4 displayed a king-jack off suit. Seat 4 outplayed Gold by bluffing with a higher hand, he created an excellent poker play and kept the bluff going all the way through to the finish.
