It might come as a surprise to many to find out that there are no actual federal regulations against gambling on the government level. This is a misconception that many people have about gaming and gambling in general, that it is controlled by the government at large. It is in reality the individual states responsibility to regulate this type of gaming and gambling industry and decide what is legal and what is illegal. As more lawmakers and legislation is aimed at gambling and gaming in general, many states in the South have opened up the books for all types of gaming such as poker rooms that hopefully will stimulate the economy in the dilapidated region. With all the difficulties in the housing economy in the nation, the South has been hit the hardest with the largest drop-off in new home sales, causing a severe drop in revenue generated in nearly all construction and manufacturing as well as incoming dollars from travelers and vacationers. With the implementation of gaming and gambling in the southern states such as Missouri, Florida and Georgia, it is apparent that parts of the South hope to generate revenue through these types of poker rooms and isolated casinos that make such an excellent choice for cash income and revenue generation.
